Kemas adopts Limex from TBM as an alternative to plastic

After the Industrial Revolution, much of Northern America and Europe faced typhus and malaria-related diseases. During the World War II era, these insect-borne diseases claim many lives. However, in 1939, a Swiss Chemist discovered an effective insecticide property from a synthesized chemical named DDT. It was, then, widely used in Europe against typhus-borne fleas to great result, nearly eliminating the disease. It was also an effective agent against Malaria in the Pacific.

After the war, DDT was an effective agricultural insecticide that benefited agricultural yields for many years. However, DDT was later proven hazardous and harmful to the environment and general health. Now, almost all countries in the world banned its usage. Unfortunately, one cannot always use yesterday’s answer to solve today’s problem.

PT. Kemas Indah Maju

Through LIMEX, we aim to be the best partner for your company and brands to build a better, greener, and sustainable tomorrow.

In the same way, the invention and use of petroleum-based polymer, or plastic material, has revolutionized the industrial and commercial world for over one hundred years. Plastic-made products permeate our world so profoundly that it is hard to imagine living without them. As a result, our world today is a heavily Plastic-dependant society. Plastic has benefited humanity for many years. However, this answer to yesterday’s problem has become today’s critical ecological and societal challenge in a changing world.

For over forty years PT. Kemas Indah Maju has manufactured and produced plastic-based cosmetic components and supplied them worldwide. Throughout this time, our purpose has remained the same. We aim always to be a part of the global cosmetic industry’s solution (rather than part of the problem). We are continually refining our vision for the changing world. We hope that, through what we innovate and produce, we are also doing our part in redeeming, reviving our natural environment and bettering the lives of the people around us. Standing on those principles, we believe that the solution to the current plastic crisis is to develop a new sustainable material that can replace plastic for the beauty industry. This new material has to be able to meet the industry’s aesthetic, functional, and cost-saving needs.

Most importantly, the new material has the perfect potential to develop a circular economy to avoid over-harvesting. Over the years, after evaluating so many materials candidates, we finally found the perfect one that fills our criteria. That material is LIMEX.

LIMEX is a revolutionary new material developed by a Japanese innovation company, TBM Co., Ltd. It has won multiple awards in design and innovation for sustainability. In 2021, PT. Kemas entered into a partnership with TBM Co., Ltd to develop LIMEX for the beauty industry. By working together with TBM Co., Ltd, PT. Kemas utilizes our long years in plastic manufacturing experiences and incorporates them into producing LIMEX as the new sustainable answer for the beauty industry. Here are some reasons why we believe that LIMEX is the sustainable answer and why PT Kemas is the company to deliver it.

^

LIMEX is comprised of over 50% limestone materials which define it as limestone. Limestone is a naturally occurring and readily available material that can be easily traced, responsibly resourced, and used sustainably.

^

LIMEX retains the moldability and characteristics of polymer (Polypropylene). It is an ideal and suitable replacement for the soon-to-be-globally-banned styrene-based materials such as ABS, PS, SAN, and other plastic materials.

^

LIMEX possesses excellent compatibility with a wide range of beauty, toiletries, and cosmetic bulk.

^

LIMEX’s high density and weight characteristics yield an elegant, quality, and exquisite feel in the finished product. It is a superior feel when compared to the equivalent plastic-based materials.

^

LIMEX is 100% recyclable. Unlike conventional polymer, it does not loose its integrity and characteristic even after many cycles of melting and forming.

^

LIMEX based beauty products possess much more competitive pricing than all other plastic replacement, bioplastic, or PCR materials.

^

PT. KEMAS is currently the global leader in developing LIMEX as a beauty packaging. We possess the most up-to-date knowledge in designing, developing, decorating (logo, vacuum metalizing, and coating), and producing LIMEX for the beauty industry.

^

PT. KEMAS is a trusted supplier for many of the prominent cosmetic brands globally. We know and understand the many current needs of our clients.

^

PT. KEMAS is a WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production) compliant company that places heavy emphasis on the ethical production of our products.

^

PT. KEMAS is ISCC (International Sustainability & Carbon Certification) certified. We are an accountable partner in sustainability for many of our clients.

^

PT. KEMAS (along with TBM. Co. Ltd) is committed to creating a circular economy for LIMEX based products for the future.

^

We are working with our partner to continue developing a newer, better, and even more sustainable version of LIMEX for the industry.

Through LIMEX, we aim to be the best partner for your company and brands to build a better, greener, and sustainable tomorrow.
